PUPILS at a Bury school donned fancy dress to become their favourite literary characters for a special book week.
Teachers at Chesham Primary School each chose a book to study, and swapped classes in the afternoons to give children a chance to learn about a different story every day.
On Friday the pupils dressed up as their favourite character from the week and enjoyed a quiz on the books they had studied.
Four teams of 11 children took part in the event, with other pupils forming the audience and helping out with the answers.
Reception teacher and literacy co-ordinator at the Talbot Grove school, Lyndsey Kelly, said: "We have had a really nice week. It's been wonderful and we've all thoroughly enjoyed it.
"It's been good for the teachers to work with different children and the pupils have enjoyed being taught by different teachers."
