BURY will be holding its 62nd annual Agricultural Show with a welcome return for the cattle sections.
The cattle will make an appearance for the first time since the foot and mouth crisis in 2001.
There will be sheep and horse classes at the popular show, which dates back to the 1850s, at Burrs Country Park, Woodhill Road, on Sunday July 3.
This year there is no light horse class or show jumping, as the land normally used is being made into a caravan park.
However, attractions will include a demonstration from Rossendale Dog Training Club, a sheep dog and sheep shearing display, and musical interludes from the Accrington Pipe Band.
Further animal attractions include donkeys, ferrets, game fowl and a pet dog show.
Classic cars will be on show, and there will be a man versus machine tractor pull. There will be a photographic exhibition, displays of arts and crafts, trade stands, and a food market.
The show opens at 9am and admission for adults is £5, concessions £3, and free to accompanied children under 12 years. Proceeds go to Rossendale Mountain Rescue.
Parking is limited, but a free bus service will operate from The Rock car park, calling at East Lancashire Railway Station, Bolton Street, every half-hour between 10am and 4pm.
