WELL what about the New Labour regime under Tony Blair? What can Labour do for all the hard working families out there?

Firstly he's going to cancel car and fuel duty but make us all pay per mile when we travel in a car.

For people who commute to work every day because there is nothing in the town or city where they live, it will cripple them in expenses with mileage fees.

Our Government says it is doing this to reduce congestion on the road. This, coming from a Government that has a deputy leader using two cars to commute to work.

Another issue is the 'slap happy' culture of teenagers. Twenty or so years ago, these teenagers would have been dealt with by corporal punishment.

This is all politically correctness gone totally overboard because we aren't allowed to punish our own children as we were.

What do we do for the kids who are doing this? Well the Government says they deserve to be sent to Disney World and other resorts to rid them of their problems. These problems come from the home if you ask me.

Something else is that police officers can get away with things which the public can't. Take the police officer who was driving at over 150mph, the excuse being is that he was "trying out a new car." The judge bought the excuse though and sent him packing with nothing but a warning.

Immigration is high on everyone's list of comments. When we joined the European Union we were told by our Government that between 15,000 and 20,000 refugees would come to this country "to seek a better life." Now we are being told the number is more in the region of 115,000.

It has also been reported in the news recently that now when we get admitted to hospital we won't be able to find a Bible as some politically correct jobsworth has deemed this too "racially offensive."

If we aren't allowed to read the Lord's book in hospital in this country then this isn't the place I was born in and this country definitely isn't the place I want to grow old in.

Action is needed, Tony. Are you the man for the job? Well, only time will tell.

I certainly don't want my daughter to grow up in this country and I bet I'm not the only father saying this too.

B TOMMS.
