THE finals were held on Dobbies Green on Friday June 17. Playing well to get to semi finals Hughie Blenkharn and Barry Morris then came up against the in form Paul Atherden and Jimmy Derby. Hughie losing 10-22, Barry losing 17-22. Jimmy and Paul then gave an exhibition of good bowling before Jimmy proved victorious.
Semi Final - Atherden 22-10 Blenkharn; Derby 22-17 Morris; Final - Derby 22-19 Atherden.

THIS was a match of two halves with only one winner in the first five blocks.
Nigel Greenhalgh, who is bang on form at the moment, won 21-17 against Bruce Wormsley.
It was all change in the second five games as Terry Fahy played Jimmy Derby.
Terry never got to grips with the green and lost 21-7.
Clive Chapman against Eddie Galstan was a very close game at 16-15 for Eddie, then 19-19 all before Clive go the next two to win 21-19.
Ian Turrell played Dave Thornley and raced into a 14-5 lead, before Dave came back into the game 16-17 down, then Ian ran out 21-16, a very good performance.
Last game was the old warhorse, John Birtwhistle, out of retirement against Graham Hickey, another player bang in form after winning the Yorkshire merit at the weekend.
They were level at 10 across before Graham went into a 16-11 lead, after which John took command and went into a 19-16 lead, followed by level at 20 across.
John eventually prevailed 21-20.
Next home game is against Garswood Hall on July, 13.

IN the second week of the Pairs league at Nuttall Park, Jane and Alex, playing for Nuttall Park B, went into a 18-5 lead but Andy and Maretta from Radcliffe put up a great come-back to reach 12. However, Nuttall got a three at the next end to run out 21-12 winners.
Don and Kris of Nuttall Park B found Peg and Tim from Radcliffe on top form to lose 12-21. Jean and Julie (Nuttall Park A found Neville and John (Openshaw Park B) too much to handle at 13-13, the Openshaw pair ran out 21-13 winners.
In the final match, Les and Peter (Nuttall Park A) played Albert and Tom (Openshaw Park B), with the Openshaw pair taking the lead 13-5.
The Nuttall pair came back into the game to draw 13-13 before taking the lead 18-17. The Openshaw pair found a mark on the green to run out 21-18.
