WHY is it that disabled people seem to be an easy target for traffic wardens?
We hear of people being fined for having their parking badge the wrong way round and now Mrs Laverty, of Burnley gets a ticket for parking in a designated parking bay outside her own front door.
Apparently she had parked without using her disabled parking badge (LET, June 21).
To leave parking badges in the car outside your own front door, especially overnight, is asking for trouble.
I wish traffic wardens would use as much enthusiasm when dealing with able-bodied people who use disabled parking places.
In Mrs Laverty's case it shouldn't have been too difficult to establish that the rightful owner was using the parking bay.
On top of all her medical problems she now has to go through all the rigmarole of an appeal and wasting more time and possibly money, not to mention the worry of it all.
I wish Mrs Laverty success with her appeal.
