POLICE are hunting for youths who violently attacked a couple at Leyland railway station.
It happened when the man, 45, and his wife, 44, who have asked not to be named, got off a train travelling from Lancaster to Manchester at about 7pm on Saturday.
About 20 youths, who had been drinking on the steps of the station, hurled stones and kicked and punched the couple.
"They escaped serious injury but have been left with cuts, bruises and lumps, and are now thinking of moving out of the town," said DC Mick Millward, of British Transport Police.
A man, whose car was in the car park, was also attacked and a mother with a pram also got off the train. Police want to speak to them and anyone else who may have seen the youths.
Six youths, aged 15 to 18, were arrested and released on police bail.
Anyone with information should call DC Millward on 01772 551321.
