KIDS can have fun in the sun this summer, vows Lancaster City Council.
It is to run special playschemes open to any child aged between eight and 11 at venues across the district during the school summer holidays.
And the even better news for mums and dads is that there is no charge made - though donations are welcome.
Activities to be provided by the city's leisure serv-ices team will include arts and crafts, sports and day trips to places including Salt Ayre pool, Williamson Park, Camelot and Blackburn ice rink.
Most of the schemes will run every weekday from Monday, July 25, to Friday, August 19, with venues including Marsh Community Centre, Lancaster, Central Lancaster High School, the Loyne School, Morecambe Youth Centre, Skerton Primary School, Heysham Youth Centre, North Road School, Carnforth, Morecambe Bay Primary School, Barton Road Youth Centre, Hornby High School, Warton Village Hall and Ellel St John's Primary school.
However, places are limited and parents must pre-book. For details and a booking form, call 01524-582827.
