LOWERHOUSE have written to the MCC in their bid to over-turn the Lancashire League's decision to make them replay the recent game against Rawtenstall.
The Worsley Cup holders won that rain-affected league game on June 19, claiming 10 points.
But the Lancashire League's executive committee decided the game must be played again because Rawtenstall only faced 24 overs and five balls. League rules state that 25 overs must be bowled.
The law quoted by the MCC states: "Once the umpires have agreed with the scorers and the correctness of the scores at the conclusion of the match ... the result cannot thereafter be changed."
League secretary Lionel Cooke said the executive committee has the power to over-turn that rule.
But Wren added: "It states in Rule 7 of the Lancashire League, headed MCC Laws, that 'all matches must be played under the revised Laws of Cricket.'
"So obviously we think we have a case, and have written to the MCC to seek clarification of the rules."
As only two games are now counted from June 19 - Accrington v East Lancs and Rishton v Enfield - the league's decision now means the other five matches will be replayed on September 10. That means that clubs who were given the madatory three points have a chance at 12 points. All scores and averages remain unchanged until after an appeal is heard.
Lowerhouse field a full strength team for the home game against Bacup tomorrow.
BACUP skipper David Ormerod is looking to the club's young batsmen to drive them to victory at Lowerhouse with Paul Gallagher and Tim Farragher in great nick.
Ilyas Hussain and Hurr Abbass replace Oliver Wood and Matthew Brierley as TODMORDEN skipper Jon Henderson looks to experiment with his bowling options against NELSON as they bid to land a place in the Worsley Cup final on Sunday.
Nelson will be hoping to build on their convincing win over Accrington.
Leaders RAMSBOTTOM welcome Lee Daggett back from Durham University as they host CHURCH, who welcome David Bury back for Barry Shorrock.
RAWTENSTALL have three key players missing as they take on Burnley.
Danny Barlow and Richard Wood are both on holiday while Will Cook-Martin is out for up to a month with a fractured wrist.
John Hayman, and Damien Hanson are also out.
Matt Hanson, Tom Chadwick, John Dawson and Afraz Ali all come in.
BURNLEY have Andy McLeod back to replace Michael Kelly.
COLNE will be looking to clinch their first 'double' of the season and leap-frog tomorrow's opponents Haslingden into third place.
HASLINGDEN are hoping to have Morecambe's New Zealand pro Mark Orchard in to sub-pro for injured Pasan Wanasinghe. John Simpson comes back into the side.
RISHTON and ACCRINGTON square up with the Blackburn Road side hoping not to let the Worsley Cup semi-final against Todmorden hinder them. Andrew Greenwood replaces captain Matt Wilson in the visitors' starting line-up.
ENFIELD'S Mas Ahmed, Robert Green and Keith Barker are missing but Neil Holmes returns after injury while Andrew Higgins and Mitch Taylor also return to the side.
They face EAST LANCS' who will hope pro Loots Bosman can find form with the bat to fire them up the table after successive defeats against Nelson and Burnley.
