Forever Bury have organised a Gigg Lane 'Open Day' for all supporters to come down to the club and have a good look around behind the scenes.
Following on from last year's low key 'Blue and White Fortnight,' Forever Bury are kicking off this year's event by holding a Fun Day and Open Day at the Shakers' Gigg Lane home on Sunday, July 24 at noon.
With lots of fun things to do and involving all sections of the Bury FC set-up, along with the Fusiliers, Asda, Angela's Pantry, and local charities.
You can also tour the ground and meet Graham Barrow and the players as they look forward to a successful season.
Come and see the involvement that Forever Bury has with the Shakers and call at the Forever Bury Visitors Centre.
Central to the day is a giant balloon race, which is not just raising much needed revenue for the club but for some of our local charities as well.
Other football clubs across the country are getting involved by advertising the event and selling balloons on our behalf.
The whole idea of 'Blue and White Fortnight' is for the people of the town to get involved and show some support for their local team.
Wear something in the colours, get a flag or two for your car, get balloons and ribbons in your windows, paint the town blue and white.
The club has been through a really rough time of late but is still battling on and, indeed, winning the fight.
It's now time for the people of the town to get behind them and help them get back where they rightly belong, but let's have fun on the way.
Local pubs can get involved, have a Shakers' Night, get a Forever Bury collection box and see if you can fill it in a fortnight, or even sell the superb Forever Bury beer (bottles or draught).
With somewhere in the region of 180 pubs in the Bury area, if each one raised £40 in that fortnight the club could benefit to the tune of £7,200, not a fortune in the world of football but much needed down at Gigg.
Why not have a combined Shakers and Charity night, whereby you try to raise as much as possible and split it between Forever Bury and a charity of your choice?
The loyal Shakers' fans can also play their part in getting behind the club over this fortnight by simply spreading the word, talk to people, try and get a mate to come down with you for that first game of the season - don't take no for an answer.
Forever Bury's Dave Giffard said: "I've spoken to thousands of people over the last three years as I've gone around businesses trying to get them involved with Forever Bury, and my greatest wish would be for the hundreds and hundreds of people who've stated 'Oh the shakers! How are they doing now? I used to watch them' to come on back down and see how the club is being rebuilt, and what a bright future it could be if everybody would give them a chance by supporting them."
The coming season holds so much promise now that the Gigg Lane ground is back in the hands of the club and the ceaseless drain of the CVA, hopefully, coming to an end soon.
But all this counts for nothing if the fans still stay away!
Th
ere was a much needed upturn in crowd figures at the end of last season due to the Good Friday game, the Rochdale derby, and the final game of the season with Swansea needing a win for promotion, but it's this level of support that's needed week in, week out.
So mark it in your diaries, hassle your boss, start buying balloons and ribbons, more importantly, come and be a part of it.
