HOME advantage paid off for Woodbank Wildboyz when they progressed into the finals of the Bury Cricket Development Group's exciting Twenty20 competition after the second series of games on Sunday.

The day started with Brox Bargers hitting an impressive 160 against Stand Eagles but in reply the Eagles had their wings clipped and were bowled out for 69.

In the second clash of the day Stand Eagles won the toss against Woodbank Wildboyz and elected to bat and posted a score of 127 with R Staniard top scoring with an unbeaten 27 while G Abbas took four wickets in his four overs.

In reply Woodbank lost the early wicket of Loster with only four on the board bringing Neil Ridehaugh to the middle to join Stand's destroyer Abbas.

Excellent batting from this pairing saw Woodbank home with a massive eight overs to spare.

Abbas scoring 60 not out and Ridehaugh unbeaten on 57 to please the home supporters.

All then hinged on the deciding third game between Brox Bargers and Woodbank Wilboyz.

Skipper Damien Stringer once again lost the toss for Woodbank and was forced to take the field on a hot day in front of a large crowd.

There was a storming start for the Bargers' openers who scored at ten an over for the first five overs however, a change in bowling and field restrictions from the Wildboyz tightened up the attack.

Then with good spells from the skipper himself and Wayne Griffiths they finally restricted the Bargers to 123 all out off the very last ball with Tahir top scoring with 23.

In reply the Widboyz got off to a good steady start and kept up with the run rate and managed to pass the total with three overs to spare for the loss of four wickets.

Bilal Mustafa scoring a quickfire 37.

Woodbank Widboyz now join Elton All Saints in the finals with two more rounds of matches to come in July at Tottington St. Johns and ELPM.
