THE honours were shared out at the annual Blackburn and Darwen Primary Schools Athletics Championships as no fewer than 10 different schools enjoyed that golden feeling.
Staged at a packed out Witton Park, the 11 track events were shared out between seven schools while it was a similar story in the field -- six titles dished out to four schools.
Feniscowles were the top team in the track events, winning three titles and also claiming two runners-up and a third place.
Megan Searson got Fenny off to a flyer in the distance event, winning the 700m girls competition ahead of Naomi Thompson of St Barnabas and Longshaw's Chloe Shackleton.
Team-mate, Nadine Parkinson won the Year Five 80m sprint after beating Amy Stevens of St Gabriels and Jessica Rooney of Westholme in to second and third place respectively.
And there was more sprint success for Fenny, this time in the Boys Year Five 80m, which was won by Kail Sturgess with Salesbury's Ben Westhead second and Sacred Heart's Mohammed Nabel third.
St Albans, St Peters and St Barnabas and St Paul's all enjoyed double success in the track events.
The speedy Saints won two of the sprint events with Charise Nelson winning the Girls Year Six 80m sprint. Bracken Sturgess of Feniscowles was second with Riannon Colquhoun of St Gabriels third. Erhorbome Odudu picked up St Albans second sprint award, winning the Boys Year Four 70m sprint ahead of Mohammed Patel of Griffins Park and Wayne Skinner of Meadowhead third.
St Barnabas and St Paul's won the 4x80m girls relay with Westhome second and Salesbury third. And Luckmya Mareno beat Roe Lee's Demi Crookston and Feniscowles Bethany Yates to win the Girls Year Four 70m sprint.
St Peter's also enjoyed a relay victory, coming out on top against Holy Souls and Lammack to win the boys 4x80m event. Earlier, Joseph Commissiong proved to be just too quick for Luke Holden of St Stephen's and Keran Pickup of Meadowhead to win the Boys Year Six 80m sprint.
Josh Alston proved to be the best middle distance runner on show when the Longshaw pupil won the 800m, beating Luke Holden of Feniscowles in to second place while Adam Narramore of St James, Darwen was third.
In the youngest age group, Holli Mulchay of Holy Souls won the Girls Year Three 70m sprint. Amy Billington of Meadowhead was second and St Peter's Jade Moorcroft third. In the boys race, James Blow of St Paul's was victorious, crossing the line ahead of Jonathan Mitcalf of Salesbury and Harry Starkie of St Peter's.
While the medals were shared out in the track events, it was the same story in the field.
However, it was pupils from Longshaw and Westholme who enjoyed the most success, both winning two events each in the jumps.
Longshaw's Nathaniel Shaw leapt 3.47m to win the boys long jump, beating Shadsworth's Jamie Clements by just two centimetres. Daniel Brown of St Luke's and St Philips jumped 3.44m to take third place.
In the standing triple jump, team-mate Michael Loadwick recorded a distance of 5.17m to win. Lewis Nelson of Feniscowles leapt in to second spot with a jump of 5.13m and Liam Gray of St Luke and St Phillip's was third, jumping 5.1m.
Lucy Foster gave Westholme their first success, winning the girls long jump with a leap of 3.19m. Holly Wilson of St Mary's Mellor was second with a jump of 3.01m with St Peter's Carley Wolfendale third thanks to a distance of 2.93m.
Westholme's Natasha Wooley leap of 5.6m was good enough to win the standing triple jump with Celine Constantinides of St Gabriel's second with a jump of 5.05m while Demi Brindle of St Peter's took third with 4.97m.
In the throwing competitinos, Mubhasher Younas of Brookhouse won the cricket ball throw with an impressive distance of 47.56m -- more than two metres further than his closest rival.
Kyle Wetwell of Roe Lee was second with 45.34m and Griffin Park's Jordan Gordon third with 44.74m.
And in the girls rounders ball throw, Nadia Wheeler of Salesbury had an even more impressive victory, clinching first place with a throw nearly four metres better than anyone else.
Nadia's throw of 36.22m beat Rebecca Lax of Shadsworth in to second place who threw 32.53m
Emily Whiteside of QEGS was third with 32.50m.
