A NEW chapter has begun for a bookshop which has been derelict for five months.
The former Kaydee Bookshop in Clitheroe has been transformed into a gallery showcasing the work of local artists.
The revamp of the Moor Lane shop was spearheaded by Jo Harding of Clitheroe Books and Ian Lloyd of Mortimers Estate Agency.
Mr Harding said: “It was just derelict and looked untidy so we decided to do something about it.
“Now artists can display their work. It makes the street look a lot nicer and it has been a big hit with the locals.”
Mr Harding contacted the estate agents after the shop was put up for sale by its Chester-based owners, Booklands.
