ELIZABETH Rodgett celebrated her 104th birthday with a huge family party yesterday.
And she insisted the secret to a long life was having a good sense of humour.
Mrs Rodgett, who has five grandchildren and seven grandchildren, celebrated with friends and family at her home at the Ash Cottage residential home in Edenfield.
Daughter Sally Smith, 78, said: “My mum worked until she was 74 as a winder in the cotton industry and has always been very fit.
“She always said ‘your health is your wealth’ and she was right.
“She always has a good laugh and has a great sense of humour.”
Mrs Rodgett lived for most of her life in Clough Fold. Her husband Alfred died in 1971 at 64.
