A BARRIER could be installed at a well-used car park in Brierfield to prevent rogue motorists sneaking on.
Plans have been produced for the barrier at the community centre car park, off Beattie Street. Pendle Council’s Brierfield and Reedley committee will debate the issue next week.
Under the scheme, which could cost £1,500, access to the car park would be limited to centre users. But a number of issues have been identified by council bosses, as no other barriers currently exist at Pendle community centres.
Councillors have also been told it would not be within the job descrip-tion of the hall’s keepers to lock or unlock the barrier at the end of the day. And provision would need to be made for anyone whose vehicle was locked in at the car park.
