AN East Lancashire IT specialist is celebrating after striking a deal with one of the world’s leading computer makers.
Lanway Computers, based at the Network 65 Business Park, Hapton, has been named an official repair centre by American IT giant Hewlett Packard (HP).
Bosses at Lanway say it will generate thousands of pounds of new business.
Managing director Steve Ackers said: “This is a great start to 2010. Hewlett Packard is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of computer and IT equipment and to become an approved repairers is a massive feather in our cap.
"Five years ago we made a conscious decision to focus more on the service and support side of the business, and that move is starting to pay handsome dividends.”
The deal means Lanway is now an approved repairer for HP, Sony, Toshiba and Samsung.
Lanway was founded in 1987 as an IT solutions company concentrating on retail and small businesses.
