A PUB has closed after the landlord left.

The Railway, Pleasington Lane, Pleasington, shut its doors for the final time last weekend.

Owner Enterprise Inns is now looking for new tenants.

The pub, one of two in Pleasington village centre, also has a bowling green and club house opposite, which is run by a committee.

Alan Cottam, president of the bowling club and a senior councillor on Blackburn with Darwen Council, said: “As a village we want someone in there as soon as possible.

Coun Cottam said that members had removed their expensive bowling green equipment from the clubhouse.
