A FOOD pub which closed so bosses could carry out ‘statutory work’ will reopen next week.
The Windmill, Preston New Road, Mellor Brook, shut its doors on January 3 after the landlord left.
Owner Enterprise Inns will reopen the pub with a new tenant ‘early next week’.
The Birmingham-based firm said the Windmill, popular with locals and passing motorists on the busy A677, needed to undergo ‘statutory work’.
It is understood Enterprise Inns bosses needed to carry out health and safety checks before a new tenant was brought in.
A spokeswoman for Enterprise Inns said: “The pub was closed temporarily for work to be carried out and we are hoping to reopen it early next week.”
