A POLICE officer has vowed to tackle anti-social behaviour after joining the policing team in Briercliffe.
PC Sarah Whittaker made the pledge on joining the village’s five neighbourhood response officers and a PCSO.
Her job will include offering a high visibility police presence, gathering people’s views through community meetings and working to improvement crime and anti-social behaviour levels.
She intends visit local schools and work with youngsters to build up trust and respect.
PC Whittaker, who has been an officer for eight years, will also meet regularly with residents and the parish council to discuss and resolve crime.
She said: “Some excellent work has been done by my predecessors and I intend to build on that firm foundation.”
