THE owner of a Darwen-based cat rescue home is urging people who want to adopt a pet before Christmas to think very carefully.
Maureen Savage, who runs Moggies Cat Rescue, said: "Every year it is important to remind people that cats or any pet for that matter, do not make good Christmas presents.
"For that reason I won't rehome for two weeks before Christmas until after New Year. That means that people who do want to give a cat a loving home need to start thinking seriously now before I stop for three weeks."
Miss Savage is also looking for donations to ensure that the cats in her care have a good time this Christmas.
She said: "Any donations of food or bedding or toys are most welcome and I can arrange to do pick ups from people's houses."
