BURNLEY fans had a glimpse of the FA Cup yesterday as it visited Turf Moor - and are hoping to be reunited with the historic trophy in May.
The cup was in Burnley as part of its trophy tour visiting various local grounds during the competition.
Around 250 school children got to see the cup at lunchtime, as well as taking part in fun quizzes and games.
Then in the evening Clarets fans had the chance to get their photo taken with the cup.
Youngsters from Barrowford Primary School were among those queuing to see the famous trophy.
They all got the chance to score a goal and celebrate in front a Wembley background, which will then be added to film from the next final to create a video showing them scoring the winner.
The children included 10-year-old Lewis Martindale who said: “It is great to see the FA Cup, it’s an amazing trophy.”
Youngsters from the school, many dressed in Burnley shirts, and one in a Bolton shirt, also took part in games, including table football and a penalty shootout.
Deputy head Michelle Hartley said: “It has been a great day and the children have loved it.
“We’ve got a quite of mix of clubs among the children, but I’m a Burnley fan and the head is a Blackburn fan so we’ve quite a bit of rivalry.
“But they are out of the cup now so hopefully we can go in and bring it back to Burnley in May.”
