FAILING to recycle properly has cost an Accrington man almost £1,000.
Michael Johnson, of Bradshaw Street West, was convicted in his absence of failing to comply with a notice from Hyndburn Borough Council about waste collection.
On May 14, he did not obey a notice requiring him to place non-recyclable household waste in his grey bin provided.
He was fined £525 by Hyndburn magistrates, with £450 costs to the council and £15 court costs.
