RIBBLE Valley MP Nigel Evans was paid a total of £21,181 in expenses for 2008/09, it was revealed yesterday.
This included service charges on his London second home of around £1,500, and mortgage interest of £1,333 a month.
The Conservative MP said he hoped MPs had learned from the episode, and added: “When these claims were made, MPs had no idea they were going to be printed.”
The expenses claims made by Mr Pope for 2008-09 were revealed yesterday on the Parliament website.
