A ROSSENDALE man and woman are set to face a judge over a dead body found in woods on Wednesday afternoon.
The body of Andrew Loveday, 26, from Bacup, was discovered in Loveclough, near the Rossendale and Burnley border, by dog walkers.
Police later arrested and charged Jayne Hartley, 40, and Adrian Limb, 29, who both live in Burnley Road, Loveclough, in relation to the discovery.
Mr Loveday is understood to have died of a drugs overdose although a post-mortem examination at Burnley General Hospital failed to find a definitive cause of death.
Hartley and Limb appeared from custody at Burnley Magistrates Court, accused of preventing a lawful and decent burial of Mr Loveday.
Magistrates were told the charge, a common-law offence, could only be heard on indictment at a crown court.
Defending both, Nick Dearing made no application for bail.
He told the court he had unsuccessfully tried to secure bail hostel places for his clients and further applications may be made before a judge.
Hartley and Limb will appear before Burnley Crown Court, for a preliminary hearing regarding the charge, on Dec-ember 21.
