AN EAST Lancashire training provider said it was helping hundreds of people back into employment.

Blackburn-based Training 2000 has secured £290,000 of European funding to provide guidance to people across the region who have been made redundant.

The programme provides a flexible package of advice, support and re-training to participants.

It also gives early support to those at risk of redundancy, offering them the opportunity to gain recognised qualifications for existing skills, and appropriate training to improve their chances within the job market.

Bob Gearey, workforce development manager at Training 2000, based in Furthergate, said: “As a training provider that works with businesses on an everyday basis, we know what businesses want, so are well placed to train participants.”
