Lancashire County Council has informed the parish council that that it has included Brownside Road in its programme for double yellow lines.
Worsthorne Village has also been submitted as a possible location for a 20mph zone.
There are 16 schemes being considered and each scheme has to be scored and funding will be allocated to the schemes with the most points.
