POLICE have vowed to crack down on anti-social behaviour after residents complained about youths congregating inside Darwen cricket ground.
Officers have increased patrols in the area surrounding Haldene Road, Mostyn Road and Veronica Street and have conducted searches for alcohol consumption and drug paraphernalia.
Stewards at the ground in Leven Grove have also been contacted to discuss on-site security and have been issued with a town centre radio link to report any anti-social activity.
A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “Youths have been congregating inside Darwen cricket ground at the weekend and in the evenings until early hours of the morning.
“We have increased high visibilty patrols in the area.”
