A jigsaw fanatic had to stop the traffic to move one of the world’s biggest jigsaw puzzles through her front door. Helmshore’s jigsaw guru Caroline Breese has spent four months completing a 24,000 piece puzzle which is thought to be one of the biggest in the world.
It measures 14ft by 5ft and the puzzle is so big, traffic on Holcombe Road, Helmshore, had to be stopped while she moved it from her garage into her house. Caroline spent nearly 280 hours completing the jigsaw entitled “Life”. But it wasn’t a “life sentence” to Caroline who finds making jigsaws immensely therapeutic; “After a bad day, I often feel better when I concentrate on a jigsaw”, says Caroline.
The jigsaw, imported from Spain, has been glued together, and hangs with pride of place on her hallway wall. Caroline would like to know if anyone else has completed such a large puzzle or does she hold a UK record?
