AN investigation into the death of a 34-year-old man has led police to arrest three people on drug charges.

Officers said Mark Campbell was found unconscious inside a property in Nelson Street, Accrington, about 11.30am on Monday.

Both paramedics and police were called to the address where they made the discovery.

Mr Campbell, who is from the town, was found to be unconscious and paramedics made several attempts to revive him but police said he never regained consciousness.

Officers have arrested two men and a woman, who are all from Accrington, on suspicion of offering or supplying Class A drugs in connection with the investigation into his death.

A post mortem examination was carried out on Tuesday, the police said, and the death was being treated as unexplained.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police and paramedics attended an address in Nelson Street, Accrington at 11.30am on Monday.

“A 34-year-old man, Mark Campbell, was found to be unconscious inside the property and despite efforts to resuscitate him he never regained consciousness.

“Three people, a 42-year-old woman, a 35 year old man and a 46 year old man, all from Accrington, were arrested on suspicion of offering/supplying Class A drugs and have been bailed pending further enquiries.
