WHALLEY turned Dickensian as the crowds braved the weather and flocked to the village’s Pickwick Night.
Shops stayed open late, with staff dressed in Victorian-style dress.
There was also carol and opera singing, fire eating, juggling and a children’s fair.
An array of stalls selling everything from mulled wine to black puddings were set up, while there was a special visit from Father Christmas.
King Street was closed to traffic between Station Road and Accrington Road from 5.30pm to 9pm for the event.
The annual event raises thousands of pounds for local charities.
