A shop assistant was threatened with a piece of wood by a man snatching cash and tobacco from a store in Bacup.
Police are investigating after the attack at Moore’s Mini Market, Rochdale Road, just after 6pm on Wednesday.
The shop worker was left ‘extremely frightened and shocked’.
Afterwards the man ran towards Whitworth.
He was around 6ft, slim, in his late 30s, with a drawn face.
He was wearing a black hooded pullover and black tracksuit bottoms.
