A COUPLE were confronted with a man armed with a knife on their doorstep.

The husband , 40, and wife, 38, were watching television when they were disturbed by a noise outside their home in Norfolk Terrace, Mill Hill, Blackburn, at around 8pm on Wednesday.

Police said they went to investigate and found two men outside their home, one of whom was brandishing a knife.

They screamed and the two men ran off down Norfolk Street.

One of the men was described as white, around 6ft tall, his mid 30, stocky, with a podgy face and stubble. The second was described as mixed race, around 5ft 2ins, in his mid 20s and slim.

Detective Sergeant Duncan Whitehead said: “Clearly this was very frightening experience for the family and I appeal to anyone with information to contact police.”
