DETECTIVES investigating the alleged double murder of a Blackburn couple in a house fire have made two more arrests.
A 20-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were arrested yesterday morning on suspicion of conspiracy to murder. They were both being questioned during throughout the day.
Abdullah Muhammad died following the arson attack on his London Road home on October 21. His wife Aysha died from her injuries a week later.
Five people have so far been charged in connection with the fire.
Mohammed Miah, 19, and Habib Iqbal, 25, both from London, have been charged with two counts of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
Three other men, Peter Bowden, 39, of Lytham St Annes; Imran Ali, 29, of Manchester; and Sadek Miah, 23, of the Isle of Dogs, have been charged with two counts of murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
A 22-year-old man from London who was arrested in Forest Gate on suspicion of murder has been released on bail pending further inquiries and a 37-year-old man from Fleetwood arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder has also been bailed.
