ONE lane of the southbound A56 has been closed near Rising Bridge due to ice on the road.
Police have reported that there have been two accidents between Sandy Lane and the A680 Blackburn Road.
Both cars crashed into the central reservation due to the wintery conditions at around 7.30am. The lane closure is affecting traffic between Burnley and Haslingden towards the M66.
