A GROUP of young entrepreneurs who designed and made protective socks for mobile phones have come out on top of a Dragons’ Den-style competition.
The students of St Wilfrid’s Sixth Form College caught the eye of the judging panel with their business SOX, and professional pitch and confident answers.
The teenagers, called UNITIX, won the event held at Ewood Park and received £150 investment in the company.
The event was organised by Young Enterprise, with schools taking part from across East Lancashire.
Ray Melia, the team’s business advisor and a project manager with United Utilities said: “The students have worked very hard to get their company to such an advanced stage in such a short time, and I’m sure the Dragons’ investment in them will be put to very good use.”
