AN EAST Lancashire music mogul has secured rockers Snow Patrol to headline a musical fight against cancer.
Nova Rehman, who was raised in Brockhall Village, Langho, was left devastated by the death of his sister, Nina Rehman, from bowel cancer in August 2006 at the age of 47.
Since then, Nova and his former client, The Smiths bass player Andy Rourke, have organised an annual concert at the Manchester Arena to raise money for cancer charities.
Nova started in the music industry running an event sound and lighting business in Colne before taking control of artists’ careers with his company Great Northern Productions.
Nova, 46, said: “The statistics for cancer are frightening and Versus Cancer was set up as a way of helping places like hospices which are not government funded.
"I don’t know how my sister would have coped without them.”
Snow Patrol frontman Gary Lightbody, said: “Versus Cancer is a fantastic charity and we’re delighted to be involved.”
The line-up for the concert on December 12 also includes Rourke, New Order’s Peter Hook, the Happy Mondays and members of James.
Tickets, priced from £32.50, are available from Ticketmaster.
