A 56-year-old grandad who was in a critical condition after a motorbike crash in Guide on October 29, is now stable.
The man, from Oswaldtwistle, was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital after the crash Lottice Lane but now has been transferred to Royal Preston Hospital.
His 11-year-old grandson, who was the pillion passenger on the Honda Silverwing, suffered a broken arm and leg in the crash at 1.5pm.
He is in a stable condition in Manchester Children’s Hospital.
A resident, who came out with a blanket to help the injured people, said: “It is terrible. I saw the cars backing up outside and realised there had been some kind of accident.
“I instinctively ran out with a blanket and I could see the man had serious injuries.
“I offered my help to the police until the ambulance arrived.
“There was blood everywhere. His helmet was cracked and he wanted to know how his grandson was.”
Emergencies services had been quickly alerted by a police officer who was travelling along the road at the time.
Two ambulances, three ambulance response cars and six police cars attended.
Sergeant Mick young, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are not looking for anyone in connection to the crash but would appeal for any witnesses who had seen the bike before to contact us.
“We would like to thank the local residents who assisted with the casualties.”
