POLICE leading the search for a man kidnapped from a Bacup street have thanked the media after a mystery caller re-contacted police following an appeal.
The man called the incident room on Monday and arrangements were made for him to call Detective Superintendent Neil Hunter, who is leading the investigation.
The return call was initially never made but after after an appeal in the media, the man called again with information.
Paul Brady, 44, of Rochdale, was kidnapped from the Beaufort Road area of Weir on August 1.
His whereabouts are still unknown and a major police inquiry continues to secure his safe release.
DS Hunter said: “I am very grateful that this man has contacted us again and I would like to thank the media who carried our appeal for him to get back in touch.
“I have spoken to him and he has provided us with some information.”
