THIS is an aerial shot of the Burnley education hub which is shaping a new landscape for the town.

The Burnley College and University of Central Lancashire Burnley Campus building is a stunning addition to the town.

The shot was taken by pilot Alan Elliot, who took to the skies on behalf of the Lancashire Telegraph to show our support for Burnley FC in their clash with Manchester United, where the Clarets notched up a 1-0 victory.

The joint £81million development is set to open in September and is a welcome boost to Burnley’s economy.

The university centre, off Princess Way, is offering innovative courses such as road traffic collision management and community journalism.

The courses have been created with input from key businesses in the town to ensure, as far as possible, there will be jobs available for graduates.

It will be run by Dr Martin Brown who has been key to the design and style of the building.

Students who received their A-levels results on Thursday will be among the new starters at the centre when it opens next month.
