THESE are the three sculptures which could soon be built in Rossendale.
Councillors are set to decide this week whether to allow Fractured Frond, Ferroterrasaurus and Echofly to go ahead at Lee Quarry in Bacup.
The three steel installations, which have been selected to provide additional features of interest to the Adrenaline Gateway, are being launched as part of the Valley of Stone project celebrating the quarrying and stone heritage of Rossendale.
A spokesperson from the Valley of Stone said: “Fractured Frond would be visible from Stacksteads and the local school and would provide a focal point to the main access route into the quarry.
“Ferroterrasaurus would add interest to the bike trails area and would be used as a rideable obstacle.
“Echofly would provide interest to a pond area of the quarry, which is frequented by walkers and cyclists.”
Coun Jason Gledhill is backing the plans.
They have been recommended for approval in a report which is now being considered by Lancashire County Council’s development control committee on Wednesday.
He said: “We need to embrace creative ideas in Rossendale which will have a positive impact on tourism and trade.
“The sculptures have been talked about for some time now, and I think they could be really good for Rossendale.
“We have a rich culture in the Valley and it is something we should celebrate creatively.”
