TOCKHOLES-based Spring Chickens Over 50s group has applied for a grant to buy laptops so they can continue popular computer courses.
The group was borrowing equipment from Darwen Access Point to run the ‘Computer courses for Beginners and Intermediates’ session, but have had to return them.
The classes were over-subscribed and the 19 people who attended the courses were keen to carry on improving their IT skills.
If the application is accepted, further computer courses will be run featuring Publisher, Excel, Digital Photography and Photoshop.
The group has already bought an interactive whiteboard after receiving funding from the Blackburn with Darwen ‘Grassroots’ funding scheme.
