FIRE crews freed a woman from her vehicle after an accident on the M65.
Two eastbound lanes of the motorway were closed following the smash between junctions four and five, near the Darwen exit.
Police said four vehicles were involved in the accident, which was being investigated by officers.
Fire crews helped to remove a woman in her 20s from her car with paramedics by using a spinal board.
It is not thought that she suffered any serious injuries and the spinal board was a ‘precautionary measure’.
The accident caused long delays for morning rush-hour traffic on Friday.Vehicles queued for up to two hours and minor roads in the area were also clogged by traffic trying to avoid the scene.
