THE cream of North West comedy talent will join forces to raise money for Manchester’s Christie cancer hospital at The Lowry, Salford Quays, this weekend.

Internationally-known comic and writer Daliso Chaponda — from CBC TV's Crossing The Main — will send the audience into a frenzy with his high-energy show.

He will be joined by Key 103 DJ and star of Phoenix Nights Justin Moorhouse, Barbara Nice aka Holy Mary from Phoenix Nights, writer, comedian and former breakfast DJ John Warbuton and Bury comic Phil Buckley.

Gary Morris and Andrew Willison from comedy sketch team Slaughter House Live will also be performing some of their larger-than-life characters throughout the night.

We spoke to Daliso Chaponda before the show.

What can the audience expect?
You’ll laugh. Bust a gut. Cackle like witches. Waggle your tongues and yip-ee-kay-ay. One comedian will juggle swords. Another will whisper lovingly in your ear.

Tell us a joke...
I’ve often played hard-to-get . . . with my landlord. I know. Crap! My style is stories so to really tell you a joke I’d need to take over this page.

What's the worst gag you've ever told?
See above. It involved a landlord.

What is your idea of happiness?
Finishing a story, doing a comedy show and doing dirty things to a lady in the same six hours.

What is your idea of hell?
Procrastination.

What's the worst trouble you've been in?
The Canadian government kicked me out of Canada in 2005. It’s all forgiven now, though. I was there earlier this year.

Upon whom would you most like to exact revenge and why?
I was a geek when I was younger. On Valentine’s Day, I was sent a fake card with the inscription. ‘This is ’cos you’ll never ever get one’. It was 18 years ago, but I still have vivid revenge fantasies. (this answer cannot be used as evidence when I am on trial).

What have you most regretted doing while drunk?
I don’t drink alcohol. Never been drunk. So there.

What's the best piece of advice you've received?
Don’t stress out over anyone who wouldn’t visit you if you were in the hospital tomorrow.
