YOUNGSTERS beat the rain by holding their sports night inside a church.
Kids took part in 90 minutes of non-stop activity at Mount Zion Independent Methodist Church, Cliviger, after the weather turned.
The children were also sponsored and raised money for missionaries supported by the church.
The youngsters played team games and were handed medals at the end of the evening.
Susan Hartley, a teacher at Colne Primet Primary School, who helped out, said: “It was a disappoint-ment that we could not go outside and it did restrict the nature of some of the games we were able to play.
“But we still had a great evening and the young people took part with a lot of enthusiasm.”
Later, after the rain stopped, the youngsters took part in a frisbee competition held in a field near the church.
