MEMBERS of the public were evacuated and one person was injured at the JJB Soccer Dome when part of the building collapsed.

Torrential rain this afternoon put the buildings drainage under strain an led to the part of the buildings internal ceiling falling down.

One member of the public was said to have been injured by a falling light fitting in the incident at the Haslingden Road building at 5.20pm.

Fire crews were at the scene making the area safe this evening.
