RESIDENTS are being advised to be on their guard against bogus workmen after concerns were raised about cold-callers.
People in Rishton are being asked to be extra vigilant when called upon by any official at their home.
Officers said people should always check the caller’s ID and if possible contact the company the caller is claiming to be from to check their details.
PC Paul Hayworth said: “Anyone who is concerned about the identity of a person at their door should check the caller’s ID.
"If you are suspicious, don’t let them in and if they are genuine callers, they won’t mind you being extra cautious.”
