A YOUNG burglar from Burnley has been jailed for three years as part of a crackdown on house-breakers by Pennine police.
Martin Norwood, 20, of Waterbarn Street, Duke Bar, was imprisoned at Burnley Crown Court after admitting a burglary charge.
He was arrested by police as part of an anti-burglary operation last March after stealing a bike and electrical items from a house in Burnley.
Insp Russ Procter, of Burnley police, said: “Norwood is just one of a number of burglars we’ve put behind bars over recent weeks.
“I hope this firm police action helps to reassure our local communities that we are being successful in our fight against crime.
“And I hope that it sends a warning shot to others involved in this type of offence.”
Insp Procter said “significant resources” were being made available to tackle the problem across Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale.
