CREEPY characters and scary ghosts will be lurking in the grounds of a historic East Lancashire hotel when a trailer is filmed for the area’s newest tourist attraction.
A camera crew is set to capture the antics at Stirk House Hotel, a 16th century manor house in Gisburn, on Sunday to promote the Scare Kingdom Scream Park, which is due to open at a Clayton-le-Dale farm.
And it is hoped the trailer will become a worldwide hit when it is uploaded on to YouTube, and broadcast on online news channels.
The Lancaster-based company of actors known as AtmosFEAR! will be made up with specialist prosthetics and film make-up before emerging at the gruesome court of an evil king.
Around 15 characters will don creepy costumes and make-up before making the hotel their kingdom for the four-minute trailer.
The idea of the trailer is to warn people of what they can expect this Hallowe’en at Hawkshaw Farm Park, run by Amanda Dowson, when the theme park opens in October.
Guests and visitors to the hotel will be screened off from the action as the story unfolds before the cameras.
Jason Karl, creative producer of AtmosFEAR! Scare Attractions, the company behind Scare Kingdom Scream Park, said: “The hotel’s medieval ambience will provide a great backdrop for our frightening feast scenes where a diabolical king turns into a zombie!”
Manager of Stirk House Hotel, Denise Sinclair, added: “The hotel’s historic features and views across Pendle Hill, famed for its association with the Pendle witches, will no doubt give the trailer its eerie flavour.”
