A TEENAGER from Burnley will soon feature in a new vegetarian recipe guide.
Jake Launder, a year nine pupil at Blessed Trinity, has been named as a runner-up in a national cookery competition for under-18s.
Jake said: “It was a complete shock to get the runners-up prize. I just hope that people really enjoy my spicy bean soup.”
The panel of judges included award-winning cookery writer, Rose Elliot She said: “Veggie diets are great news for health, animals and the environment so it’s fantastic to see young people so enthusiastic and committed, and I was most impressed by the interesting range of all-vegan recipes they submitted.
Keith Stott, director of the Redwoods wholefood company, who sponsored the competition, said: “We’d like to congratulate all the winners.”
