A MOTHER whose possessions were wrecked when a blaze ripped through her family home is suffering more heartache after her son’s treasured pet cat went missing.
Marie Outlaw, 31 and her seven-year-old son Ben were left homeless following the fire at her rented home in Havelock Close, on the Galligreaves estate, Blackburn, earlier this month.
The pair lost almost everything in the fire, including pictures and mementoes of Marie’s son Toby, who died at just seven-weeks old from a heart condition.
Marie’s cats were rescued and had been living at her mum’s house in Arnside Crescent.
But beige and white ragdoll cat Lad has now gone missing. The cat has chocolate patches around his piercing blue eyes, a chocolate tail and a distinctive brown spot on his back left paw.
Marie said: “Lad has probably been traumatised by the fire. People have said they have seen him near my old house but we haven’t been able to find him. Ben is distraught. He has lost all his possessions and now he had lost his beloved cat.”
Lad is microchipped. If you see Lad, contact Marie via 01254 202728 or 07792 754119.
