SUPERMARKET chain Tesco looks set to be given the go-ahead for a new superstore in Great Harwood’s Queen Street.
Hyndburn Plannning Committee will make a decision on the store at a meeting on Wednesday.
But a report from the council’s planning officers has recommended that councillors vote in favour of the development.
Tesco resubmitted the planning application earlier this year despite being refused permission at a public inquiry when a Government inspector concluded there was no longer a need for the store in the town.
Inspector Phillip Ware came to the decision after a £32million Tesco store off Eagle Street, Accrington, was approved following a separate planning inquiry in December last year.
